About Chitra Foundation

Chitra Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in memory of Meena Chitra Kumar, the late wife of Kumar Subramanian. They were married for over 35 years until her sudden passing at the relatively young age of 57. The foundation is managed by Kumar Subramanian and his daughter, Aditi Kumar, who is currently 21 and in college, both serving as trustees. https://www.linkedin.com/in/kumarsubramanian The foundation aims to sell books authored by Mr. Subramanian that use philately as a means of storytelling, and channel the profits from these sales toward meaningful causes. One of his notable works is a book on the Ramayana, uniquely told through stamps, with all proceeds being donated to the Ram Mandir Trust. Another publication, titled "Modi – Man on a Mission", uses stamps issued around the globe during Prime Minister Modi’s first and second terms to narrate his journey. Proceeds from this book are donated to the National Defence Fund. Chitra Foundation invites all well-wishers to support its mission of contributing to noble causes across the country. Several more books using philately as a storytelling medium are planned for future publication.
